About the product

Nourish your curls with Curl Crush™ Co-Wash. Our organic certified Co-Wash is a creamy, low-lather conditioner wash for thirsty or frizzy curls that gently cleanses the hair and scalp.

The secret lies in a blend of hydrating botanicals, including organic aloe vera, avocado oil, and mango extract. We also formulated this co-wash for curly hair with a strengthening blend of Anagain™ derived from pea sprouts and organic bamboo extract to protect against frizz, breakage and thinning.

This co-wash for curly hair is Curly Girl Method-approved, which means that it does not contain ingredients that are known to cause hair damage or build-up, such as sulfates, silicones, and drying alcohols. Plus Curl Crush™ Co-Wash consists of 99.3% natural ingredients!

How it works

Curly hair is more prone to dryness, brittleness, and breakage. Traditional shampoos are often too harsh for this hair type and leave curls parched and frizzy.

The solution? Co-washing hair. Think of a co-wash as a conditioner that cleanses your hair. Co-washing allows you to wash your hair regularly (which is necessary for hair and scalp health) while keeping your curls hydrated and defined.

We formulated Curl Crush™ Co-Wash with a mild detergent that gently removes hair product residue, dirt, and excess sebum from the hair. Moisturizing ingredients like aloe vera and avocado oil imbue thirsty curls with hydration while fortifying pea sprouts and bamboo extract defend hair against breakage. Antioxidant-rich aloe vera also helps to protect hair from environmental damage.

    Frequently asked questions

    • What is a co-wash?

Co-washing is a method of washing your hair with a cleansing conditioner instead of shampoo. While co-washing hair is possible with any conditioner, it’s best to use a co-wash formulated with mild cleansing ingredients like Curl Crush™ Co-Wash.

    • Is it suitable for my hair?

We formulated Curl Crush™ Co-Wash to suit all curl types, including coily, textured, curly, or dry hair. Co-washing hair with this product works well for these dryness-prone hair types because it doesn’t dry out hair like typical shampoos often do. However, we do not recommend co-washing hair for those with fine or oily hair, as a co-wash can weigh down your hair due to its heavy concentration of hydrating ingredients.

    • Co-wash vs. shampoo for curly hair: what’s the difference?

Co-washes and shampoo for curly hair are both necessary components of a curly hair routine. Many people like to use both on alternating wash days. However, we don’t recommend using co-wash as your only cleansing method. Instead, we recommend using a shampoo every once in a while to prevent build-up. Finding the right balance is key and requires testing. Test different wash routines to find one that works for your curls.

    • Is this product Curly Girl Method (CGM) friendly?

The Curly Girl Method is a special hair care routine designed to improve the health and definition of curly hair. Not familiar with it? Check out this blog post and learn everything there is to know!

The Curly Girl Method recommends avoiding products that contain sulfates, drying alcohols, silicones, mineral oils, or parabens. Curl Crush™ Co-Wash is Curly Girl Method-approved because it is formulated without all of these damaging ingredients. However, you do not need to follow the Curly Girl Method to benefit from using this co-wash for curly hair.

    • How can I optimize my results?

We designed our collection of curly hair products to make the best of your curls. No frizz, no dryness, no greasiness – just well-balanced and defined curls.

We recommend using Curl Crush™ Co-Wash with the other products in our Curl Crush™ collection:
