About the product

There is no greater luxury! This allergy-friendly, silky duvet cover has a smooth, cool texture that protects your skin and hair while sleeping. Plus, it’s made from vegan, environmentally-friendly bamboo material.

Traditional cotton sheets are made with rough fibers that snag on your skin and hair, causing tangles, dryness, and breakage. Bamboo fibers, on the other hand, are as smooth as silk (but cruelty-free!), which means that they’re better for both your skin and your hair.

Silky Bamboo Duvet Cover works together with your body to regulate the heat! Since bamboo fabric has temperature-regulating properties the duvet cover will keep you from being chilly in the winter and overheating in the summer.

Available in 4 sizes. For duvet sizes 140x200 cm, 150x210 cm, 200x210 cm, and 200x220cm. Silky Bamboo Duvet Cover is the perfect match to Silky Bamboo Pillowcase! Mix and match your favorite color combination.

We use small buttons at the bottom of our bamboo duvet covers for closure. We have chosen buttons instead of zippers to prevent the zipper from damaging your washing machine and because buttons are more durable.

Our bamboo duvet covers are equipped with strings in the inside corners, which can be used to tie and fasten most duvets in their equipped loops. This will prevent most duvets from slipping inside the cover. Please note that not all duvets have small loops or hooks that can be used to tie the strings.

Consciously made

Our Silky Bamboo Duvet Cover is made from 100% Bamboo Lyocell®, a naturally hypoallergenic, antibacterial, and odor-resistant material. Bamboo Lyocell® is manufactured from fast-growing bamboo in a closed-circuit process where 99.7% of the residual chemicals are recycled, making it one of the most environmentally-friendly fabrics available. Our Silky Bamboo Duvet Cover is manufactured according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which means that every component of the product is free of harmful chemicals.

Bamboo sheets are made from the quick-growing bamboo plant. To make the fabric, the bamboo is first crushed into a pulp. Then the natural fibres are extracted from the pulp and spun into a yarn. Bamboo is considered a sustainable fabric because the bamboo plant, which is categorised as a grass, can grow up to 36 inches in just one day!

Bamboo Lyocell® used in Silky Bamboo Duvet Cover is made according to the international OEKO-TEX Standard 100 for textiles. The certificate means that every thread, button and component of the product is tested free from harmful chemicals and lives up to our quality requirements at Hairlust.

Please note, the duvet is not included.

    Frequently asked questions

    • Can bedding be damaging to hair and skin?

Yes! Traditional bed sheets are made of cotton or a mix of cotton and polyester. Even though these materials are cheap, they often have a rough surface that causes friction between the sheets and your hair and skin. This can leave your hair frizzy when you get up the next morning. Additionally, cotton can absorb a lot of moisture from your skin and hair while sleeping causing dryness.

Bamboo duvet covers are made of much smoother and softer material. Your hair and skin glide on top of the surface, which reduces friction and pulling. Bamboo doesn't absorb as much moisture either, so that your skin and hair maintain their natural moisture balance.

    • How should I take care of/wash it?

Washing machine: Our Bamboo Duvet Cover is machine washable. Use a program suited for delicates at a maximum of 30°C with a mild detergent suited for delicates/silk. Do not use bleach. Do not tumble dry. Iron at low temperature.

Bamboo can’t be washed with regular detergent due to regular detergent containing enzymes that increases the effectiveness, but not caring about sensitive materials.

Bamboo is a sensitive and natural material which will contract slightly during wash. That can lead to small variations in the color.

Hand wash: If you wash by hand, rinse the fabric thoroughly and gently pat dry. Leave the fabric free to dry.

Stains: Don’t rub on stains as “dusty” areas might occur on the fabric. Oils and grease can often be hard to get rid of - in this case it’s better to send the fabric to a dry cleaner. Stains can be pretreated before washing with a little concentrated mild liquid detergent or dishwashing soap (uncolored). Wait around 10 minutes before washing off.

    • What size is it?

This bamboo duvet cover is available in 4 different duvet sizes. It fits duvet sizes 140x200 cm, 150x210 cm, 200x200 cm and 200x210cm.

    • Should I choose bamboo or silk sheets?

Silk sheets and bamboo sheets are both excellent choices when it comes to beauty sleep. But since the production of silk kills silkworms, it is not an option for vegans or people worried about animal welfare.

Bamboo, on the other hand, is one of the most sustainable materials due to its low impact on the climate. It's one of the fastest growing plants in the world.

We use bamboo instead of silk due to it being a vegan and sustainable option and having an amazingly sleek and smooth surface.

    • Return policy

It is not possible to return or exchange pillow or duvet covers if the packaging has been broken. This is not possible due to hygiene and health reasons.
