How it works

The Silky Bamboo Duvet Cover is crafted from 100% Bamboo Lyocell®, a sustainable fabric produced using an eco-friendly, closed-loop process. This innovative method recycles and reuses the solvent used to dissolve the bamboo pulp, drastically reducing waste and making the production far more sustainable than traditional fabric manufacturing. In fact, up to 99% of the solvent is captured and reused, significantly lowering the environmental impact compared to conventional viscose production.

Bamboo itself is a highly renewable resource. As a type of grass, it can grow up to 35 inches (around 90 cm) in a single day! To create our Bamboo Lyocell® fabric, the bamboo is first crushed into pulp, and its natural fibers are carefully extracted and spun into soft, durable yarn.

Additionally, the Bamboo Lyocell® used in Silky Bamboo Duvet Cover meets the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, ensuring that every thread is free from harmful chemicals—making it not only gentle on your skin but also safe for the environment.

Our bamboo duvet covers feature small buttons at the bottom for closure, chosen for their durability and to prevent damage to your washing machine. Inside, you'll find corner ties to secure most duvets, though not all duvets have loops or hooks for this purpose.

Can bedding be damaging to hair and skin?

Traditional bed sheets are typically made from cotton or a cotton-polyester blend. While these materials are affordable, they can sometimes feel rough, creating friction with your hair and skin, which may contribute to frizz. Additionally, cotton tends to absorb moisture, which can leave your skin and hair feeling dry.

Bamboo duvet covers, on the other hand, are made from a smoother, softer material. This reduces friction, allowing your hair and skin to glide more easily across the surface. Bamboo also absorbs less moisture, helping to maintain your skin and hair's natural moisture balance.

How should I take care of/wash it?

Washing machine: Our Bamboo Duvet Cover is machine washable. Use a program suited for delicates at a maximum of 30°C with a mild detergent suited for delicates/silk. Do not use bleach. Do not tumble dry. Iron at low temperature.

Bamboo can’t be washed with regular detergent due to regular detergent containing enzymes that increases the effectiveness, but not caring about sensitive materials.

Bamboo is a sensitive and natural material which will contract slightly during wash. That can lead to small variations in the color.

Hand wash: If you wash by hand, rinse the fabric thoroughly and gently pat dry. Leave the fabric free to dry.

Stains: Don’t rub on stains as “dusty” areas might occur on the fabric. Oils and grease can often be hard to get rid of - in this case it’s better to send the fabric to a dry cleaner. Stains can be pretreated before washing with a little concentrated mild liquid detergent or dishwashing soap (uncolored). Wait around 10 minutes before washing off.

Should I choose bamboo or silk sheets?

Silk sheets and bamboo sheets are both excellent choices when it comes to beauty sleep. But since the production of silk kills silkworms, it is not an option for vegans or people worried about animal welfare.

Bamboo is considered a highly sustainable material, thanks to its rapid growth and relatively low environmental impact. It is one of the fastest-growing plants, which contributes to its appeal as an eco-friendly resource.
